Find out how to update your address with the Department of Transport (DoT).

If you change your Western Australian (WA) address, we’ll need to update our records. You must let us know within 21 days of changing your address.

Change your WA address and contact details (for individuals)

You can update address and contact details for:

  • WA driver’s licence
  • WA vehicle licence (registration)
  • WA recreational boat registration
  • WA Recreational Skipper's Ticket
  • WA Photo Card.

You must provide a WA residential address. You can also enter a postal address, which is different from your residential address, for correspondence purposes only.

You don’t need to pay a fee to update your name, address or gender. (You’ll need to pay a fee if you request a replacement card or document – refer to the section Request a replacement card or document).

Change your address online

You can update your address details online using DoTDirect. You can create an account if you don’t already have one.

Change your address by mail or in person

If you are unable to update your address online, you can complete a Change of Personal Details (Form C4).

You can submit the completed form to any Driver and Vehicle Services centre, DoT regional office or agent OR post to:

Please note that if you are submitting the form in person, you'll need to bring with you proof of identity.

Change your WA address and contact details (for organisations)

You may can update your address and contact details for:

  • WA vehicle licence (registration).
  • WA recreational boat registration.

Change your organisation details online

If you’re already registered as an individual using DoTDirect, you can change your organisation's address and contact details online.

  • Login to your online account.
  • Go to the Tools menu and select 'Register an Organisation'.
  • You must provide a residential address. You can also enter a postal address, which is different from your residential address, for correspondence purposes only.

Change your organisation details by mail or in person

If you are unable to update your address online, you can complete a Change of Personal Details (Form C4) form.

If submitting in person, you'll need to bring with you proof of identity and confirmation of authorisation to submit changes to the account. Form C4 must be signed by a Director, Secretary or an authorised representative of the company.

Note: As part of this service and for security purposes you will need to provide the plate numbers of all vehicles licensed in your organisation's name.

No longer living in WA?

Transfer your records

If you’ve left WA permanently, please contact the local licensing authority in your new State or Territory to transfer your records. To assist you, we’ve provided links to the relevant state authorities.

Return your number plates

If you have a WA licensed vehicle and have recently moved to a new State or Territory, you need to return the WA number plates to DoT.

Change of address stickers for driver's licences

When you update your address details, we’ll send you a change of address sticker. This should be attached to the back of your driver's licence or Photo Card document. When attaching, be careful not to cover important information such as expiry date or your date of birth.

A change of address sticker will not be forwarded for changes to your vehicle licence (registration) document, or for Photo Cards without an address.

Request a replacement card or document

If you need to request a replacement driver’s licence, learner’s permit or learner log book, you can complete the Application for replacement/certified copy of driver’s licence, learner’s permit or learner log book (Form DL26).

Fees apply – refer to Replacement card and document fees table. You don’t need to pay for a replacement if your driver’s licence has been stolen and you’ve reported it to the WA Police Force. You’ll need to provide the police incident report number.

Replacement card and document fees

There is no fee payable to change your name, organisation name, address or gender.

However, you will need to pay a fee if you request a replacement driver's licence card, WA photo card, vehicle licence document, or learner’s permit card.
