Diversity, access and inclusion
Find out how we support diversity, access and inclusion.
At the Department of Transport, we are committed to ensuring our information, services and infrastructure are inclusive and accessible to all Western Australians, including our employees. This includes a commitment to achieving substantive equality by identifying and eliminating any areas of systemic discrimination.
We support an equitable, diverse and inclusive work environment. We want our people to feel valued and that they can be a part of something real.
Through our internal Access and Inclusion Committee, we identify opportunities and develop strategies to improve outcomes for people with different needs and abilities and oversee the development and implementation of our Reconciliation Action Plan, Multicultural Plan, Workforce Diversity and Inclusion Plan and the Transport Portfolio Disability Access and Inclusion Plan.
The Committee is chaired by the Executive Director, Office of the Director General, who, as a member of our Corporate Executive, provides strategic leadership on access and inclusion.
The Committee meets 3 times a year and achievements are highlighted in our Annual Report and in our Access and Inclusion communiques that are published on our website following committee meetings. You can read the latest Access and Inclusion Communique below.
