How to register

Register online

All you need to register for an account is a:

  • unique email address and your WA driver's licence or learner’s permit; and
  • vehicle licence or a registration code.
  • If you do not have a registration code, you can request a code during the registration process and it will be mailed to you within 5 days.

To register for a DoTDirect account you will need to create a username and password.

Register by phone

You can register by phone on 13 11 56. You will need to verify your identity with us, and provide:

  • a WA vehicle plate number and the last six digits of the vehicle identification number or VIN; or
  • last payment date and method of payment of WA driver’s licence renewal if a vehicle is not owned.

Two-factor authentication

We now require two-factor authentication (2FA) to access your DoTDirect account.

That means you’ll be prompted to turn on 2FA the next time you log in.

Once you have enabled 2FA, you will need to enter your password and the verification code sent via SMS to your mobile number each time you access DoTDirect.

2FA is another way we keep your personal information safe and protect against unauthorised transactions.

Did not receive a SMS verification code?

If you did not receive a SMS verification code or are unable to login using the code, you can:

  • check your unknown sender SMS messages folder on your device
  • wait a few minutes and try requesting another SMS code
  • select “Sign in another way” after entering your password, then enter your driver’s licence and vehicle licence details to verify it’s you signing in
  • call us on 13 11 56 or visit a DVS centre, regional DoT office or agent if you’ve changed your mobile phone number.
