Barrack Square lift upgrade
Work is underway to replace both passenger lifts at Barrack Square, improving access to the busy facility.
The Department of Transport manages Barrack Square which is home to the Swan River ferry terminal, cafes, restaurants and bars and adjacent to the Swan Bell Tower.
The replacement lifts will be more reliable and efficient and made from durable materials well-suited to the outdoor environment.
To minimise impacts and maintain lift access to all first-floor premises during the work, a temporary bridge will provide access between the facilityís east and west pavilions.
DoTís Project Delivery team is working closely with tenants at Barrack Square to minimise impacts wherever possible and apologises for any inconvenience during these improvements at Barrack Square.
- Erection of temporary scaffolding between the pavilions
- Removal of the west pavilion lift.
Lift access to the first floor of the west pavilion will be via the existing east pavilion lift and temporary bridge.
- Installation and commissioning of the west pavilion lift.
- Removal of the east pavilion lift.
Lift access to the first floor of the east pavilion will be via the new west pavilion lift and temporary bridge.
- Installation and commissioning of the east pavilion lift.

Itís envisaged the replacement of the lifts will be completed before the end of the year. For further information please contact DoTís Project Delivery team on (08) 9435 7546.
