Barrack Square lift upgrade
Work is underway to replace both passenger lifts at Barrack Square, improving access to the busy facility.
The Department of Transport manages Barrack Square which is home to the Swan River ferry terminal, cafes, restaurants and bars and adjacent to the Swan Bell Tower.
The replacement lifts will be more reliable and efficient and made from durable materials well-suited to the outdoor environment.
To minimise impacts and maintain lift access to all first-floor premises during the work, a temporary bridge will provide access between the facility’s east and west pavilions.
DoT’s Project Delivery team is working closely with tenants at Barrack Square to minimise impacts wherever possible and apologises for any inconvenience during these improvements at Barrack Square.

- Removal of the west pavilion lift.
Lift access to the first floor of the west pavilion will be via the existing east pavilion lift and temporary bridge. - Installation and commissioning of the west pavilion lift.

Lift access to the first floor of the east pavilion will be via the new west pavilion lift and temporary bridge. - Installation and commissioning of the east pavilion lift.
