The Department administers a range of joint funding arrangements with local government authorities to assist in developing sustainable communities.

How to apply for a grant

New online grants management system

To apply for a grant you will need to register for a DoT Grants (OmniStar) account. Please see the How to guide for applicants below for instructions on how to register for an account and create an application.

The Department introduced the new online grants management system, DoT Grants in July 2024. 

All grant programs will be integrated into the new system by July 2025.

Coastal management

Coastal adaptation and protection grants - Each year local coastal managers are invited to apply for funds to undertake projects associated with identifying and adapting to coastal hazards.

Connecting Schools

Connecting Schools Grants - Grant funding is available to participating Western Australian Your Move Schools, and aims to improve their bike access, skills and infrastructure.

WA Bike Month

WA Bike Month Grants – Grant funding is available to local governments, workplaces, schools, bike groups and community organisations to host events that support and inspire people to give bike riding a go.
