DTMI’s Annual Report 2026 has been released, following its tabling in Parliament by the Minister for Transport and Major Infrastructure Hon Rita Saffioti MLA.
The report marks DTMI’s first year as the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure, following the renaming of the Department of Transport on 1 July 2025 as part of public sector reforms announced by Premier Cook in March 2025.
It outlines how the department delivered on the Government’s transport and major infrastructure priorities, and highlights key achievements, challenges, organisational performance and projects from the 2025-26 financial year, including:
- overhauling WA’s Graduated Licensing System to improve safety for young drivers and reduce road trauma;
- establishing the Office of Major Infrastructure Delivery to oversee projects of statewide significance;
- working with regional and remote communities to deliver essential aviation infrastructure;
- progressing the State Government’s Westport project to support a new container port in Kwinana and an integrated road and rail freight network; and
- being recognised as a Disability Confident Recruiter for a second consecutive year.
