How to gear up correctly for your upcoming PDA

Categories:

News article

When learning to ride, it’s important to gain on-road riding experience under supervision. You’ll work towards developing the skills required to control a motorcycle or moped, identify and respond to hazards and practice safe riding. What’s equally as important, is how you gear up for the ride.

When you invest in riding gear, you want to make sure it’s going to do its job and  keep you safe. If you or someone you know has an upcoming Practical Driving Assessment (PDA), make sure to wear the appropriate attire. This includes:

  • enclosed footwear
  • an approved helmet
  • long trousers (although super comfy, trackpants aren’t acceptable)
  • a long-sleeved shirt or fully sleeved jacket
  • gloves and eye protection are highly recommended.

Remember, your ride of choice must be roadworthy, meeting the minimum safety standards and the correct class for your upcoming PDA. If you’re unable to meet these requirements, you may not be able to sit your test.

After all, you’ve worked so hard to get here, so make sure you’re fully prepared by correctly gearing up on the day!
