Changes to the Regional Airfare Zone Cap scheme for travel from 1 July 2026 onwards

The State Government has locked in ongoing affordable airfares for regional residents through an updated Regional Airfare Zone Cap (RAZC) scheme.

To enable the scheme to continue, maximum zone cap fares booked from early in the new year for travel from 1 July 2026 will be subject to updated pricing that reflects if a booking is for a low or high demand flight, as follows:

Low demand flights

  • $199 one-way for zone 1 travel from regional locations less than 1,000 km from Perth and $299 one-way for regional locations more than 1,000km from Perth.

High demand flights

  • $265 one-way for zone 1 travel from regional locations less than 1,000 km from Perth and $385 one-way for regional locations more than 1,000km from Perth.

Participating airlines can choose to offer fares less than the set zone cap maximum prices. Capped airfare prices offered by participating airlines on regional routes will be published on this site when updated scheme bookings open through the updated scheme in early 2026.

Regional residents are encouraged to book early and compare prices on routes where more than one airline operates to secure the lowest zone cap fare.

Bookings and travel remain open under the current pricing and conditions of the scheme until 30 June 2026.
