Boorloo Bridge an iconic WA destination

Have you travelled along Perth’s latest landmark bridge yet?

Boorloo Bridge soars across the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River), connecting Victoria Park to East Perth with stunning river views.

Designed purely for those walking, wheeling or riding, and named after the Noongar word for Perth, this iconic bridge provides a safe, accessible and culturally enriching route for people of all ages and abilities.

Based on a recent evaluation, we’re seeing great use of the bridge.

  • On average more than 4,100 people use Boorloo Bridge daily nearly a year after its opening.
    • This is more than double the average daily active travel trips across the river in October 2024 before Boorloo Bridge opened.
  • Most people travel along the bridge for exercise (40%), followed by recreation and leisure (35%) and commuting (17%).
  • The large majority agreed that commuting on Boorloo Bridge is safer than the old Causeway Bridge.
  • Visitors travel from across the metropolitan area during weekends and public holidays, which reinforces the bridge’s dual role as both transport infrastructure and a destination.
