Bunbury Casuarina Boat Harbour

Bunbury Casuarina Boat Harbour is located between Bunbury’s central business district, Outer Harbour and Koombana Bay, around 175 kilometres south of Perth. Access by sea is via the Outer Harbour, with clear passage between the land-backed wharf to the west.

The harbour offers calm waters, grassed and shaded areas and public toilets and BBQs, making it a popular spot for swimming, fishing and other aquatic activities.  

Boating facilities include a service jetty, 52 recreational and 5 commercial boat pens, swing moorings, slipway and two lane boat ramp, with ample parking for vehicles and boat trailers.

  • Berth load: Max 50 tonne displacement vessel berthing at a maximum of 0.3 m/s at a maximum approach angle of 15°
  • Stack load: 700 kg/m²

Fuelling facilities

Diesel is available on the service jetty. Fuel is provided by Baileys Marine Fuels Australia and 24 hour access is available with Baileys Marine Fuel Card.

Boat ramp

There is a newly refurbished two-lane boat ramp with universal access floating jetty and free car and boat trailer parking nearby. No wash down facilities available.

Toilets/showers

Public toilets are available on Jetty Road and additional toilet and shower blocks are provided for boat pen holders in the harbour’s multipurpose building.

Bicycle racks are available in front of the multipurpose building on Jetty Road.

Fixed pens with a walkway are charged per metre of pen length. The fixed alongside berth option, and, user installed and maintained harbour swing moorings are charged per metre of the vessel length. 

All fees quoted are inclusive of GST and should be paid in advance.

Things to do at Casuarina Boat Harbour

  • Follow one of the harbour walking trails. 
  • Take a walk along the pathways on Jetty Road and look out across Casuarina Boat Harbour, Koombana Bay and the Indian Ocean.
  • Admire the refurbished Arrol Crane, once positioned on the old timber jetty which extended 590 metres from Jetty Road.
  • Catch dinner from the public fishing jetty in the Outer Harbour.
  • Spot a dolphin and experience the redeveloped Koombana Bay Foreshore on the way to the Dolphin Discovery Centre.
  • Take a charter from the harbour and wonder at the world above and beneath the waves at the Lena Wreck.
  • Enjoy the restaurants and cafes a stone’s throw from the harbour at the Marlston Waterfront.
  • Take in the sunset with the family at the playground and swimming beach on the southern corner of the harbour.
  • Launch your vessel and enjoy the water ski area near “The Plug” or go fishing in Outer Harbour.
  • Watch a twilight yacht race in summer from the beach or from the comfort of your car along Jetty Road.
