Boat ramp jetty replacement works to begin at Bandy Creek
News for the Department of Transport
Work will begin next month to replace the old, narrow, timber finger jetty at Bandy Creek with a safer, longer, modern, floating jetty providing improved loading and offloading of passengers and better access for all users.
Skippers who launch at Bandy Creek Boat Harbour are being urged to consider using the town ramp during February as the work is undertaken.
Department of Transport (DoT) Maritime Project Delivery Director Sarah Robinson said the temporary closure was required to ensure the safety of those working on the project and facility users, and to complete the works more rapidly.
“If possible, skippers should use the town ramp from Wednesday 5 February 2025 until completion of the project expected to be in the first week of March,” Ms Robinson said
“Every effort is being made to limit the duration of the jetty replacement project and minimise disruption for the local boating community. Unfortunately, delays forced the rescheduling of works from October to February.
“The jetty upgrade will deliver a significantly improved facility for users and we ask for patience and understanding during the work.”
The $373,000 jetty replacement project is funded through the Recreational Boating Facilities Scheme.
Signage at the ramp will alert users about the upcoming closure. For alternative launch ramp locations visit our website.
