The Department of Transport has announced several measures to provide timely financial relief to the passenger transport industry, to ease the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Get ready for passenger transport driver (PTD) authorisations

PTD authorisations are replacing bus (F) and taxi (T) licence extensions. You will need a PTD authorisation if you transport passengers as part of your paid or volunteer work.

On-demand transport includes a taxi, charter vehicle or regular passenger transport vehicle, which provides a passenger with flexibility around the route they take and the time they travel.

Coronavirus (COVID-19): Keeping drivers and passengers safe

The WA Department of Health website has up-to-date information about coronavirus (COVID19) in WA.

On Sunday 15 March 2020, Premier McGowan and the State Government declared a State of Emergency under the Emergency Management Act and a Public Health Emergency under the Public Health Act.

Under the Transport (Road Passenger Services) Regulations 2019, surge pricing and queue-jumping fees are not allowed when a State of Emergency has been declared.
