Relinquish a jetty licence

What to do when you want to remove your jetty or sell your property with a jetty.

You need to inform us when you plan to remove your jetty or sell your property with a jetty.

Selling a property with a jetty

When you sell a property with a jetty you are relinquishing your jetty licence.

The buyer of the property will need to apply for a new licence for the existing jetty.

As seller of the property, you must complete and sign the Relinquishment of Jetty Licence section of the buyer’s New Jetty Licence Application form.

If you do not sign the new jetty licence application form, it will not be processed and you will remain responsible for the jetty licence and the fees.

Once the application has been processed and approved, the seller of the property will no longer be responsible for the jetty licence obligations.

Note: Any unpaid fees up until the new licence is granted remain the responsibility of the current licensee for that payment period.

Removing or decommissioning a jetty structure

If you plan to remove a jetty structure, contact us and quote your Jetty Licence number.

Depending on the licence category of your jetty, you may be required to provide a decommission report.

If you were required to lodge a cash bond or bank guarantor with the Department of Transport these may be returned to you as part of the decommissioning process.
