Remote and mobile services

Find out how we are improving service delivery for remote communities and regional Western Australians.

Overview

Our teams visit regional and remote locations across the state, bringing a one-stop-shop for a range of transport services including:

  • theory tests
  • practical driving assessments
  • licence renewals
  • vehicle licence transfers
  • WA photo cards.

Download the map below to see which communities, towns and regions we service, support and assist.

Resources

See the fact sheets below for information on:

  • Proof of identity – what documents are needed as proof of identity when applying for a learner’s permit, driver’s licence or photo card.
  • Six steps to getting your licence – from getting your learner’s permit, through to your P plates.
  • Your car rego and number plates – information to help you keep your car on the road.

Remember: you cannot drive on a road unless you have a driver’s licence or learner’s permit. There are big penalties if you drive without a licence or permit.

Accessible theory tests

We work with private industry, Aboriginal corporations and non-government organisations to provide alternative ways to sit the road rules theory test in a safe, familiar environment for people who may face barriers with reading or using computers.

The same pass marks that apply to computerised theory tests apply to this alternative form of testing.
When candidates pass the theory test, they are issued with a certificate they can take to a Department of Transport office or licensing agent to progress with the licence application.
