PTSS for on-demand booking services

This section includes information for on-demand booking services (ODBSs) about their PTSS responsibilities, including payments and journey data submissions.

The Passenger Transport Subsidy Scheme (PTSS) replaces the Taxi User Subsidy Scheme (TUSS) from 1 March 2025.

PTSS is a subsidy available to eligible people with disability travelling in on-demand rank or hail (taxi) vehicles.

From 1 March 2025, all taxi drivers in WA should be prepared to accept PTSS.

There will be a transition period between 1 March and 30 September 2025, where TUSS cards and vouchers must continue to be accepted by taxi drivers.

 PTSS responsibilities for ODBSs

Under the Transport (Road Passenger Services) Act 2018, ODBSs providing rank or hail (taxi) services have a range of responsibilities related to PTSS.

 PTSS payments for ODBSs

Payments for PTSS subsidies and co-payments are made directly to your ODBS, for distribution to relevant drivers.

 PTSS journey data submissions

All ODBSs registered for PTSS will need to provide DoT with the records of all journeys for which a PTSS-subsidised fare was provided.

 PTSS web services

Passenger Transport Subsidy Scheme (PTSS) web services allow on-demand booking services (ODBSs) that are registered for PTSS to capture PTSS journey details to integrate with their own digital systems (like dispatch software).

 How to submit co-payment data

The Department of Transport (DoT) administers co-payments for TUSS journeys where a passenger uses a wheelchair. To support co-payment validation, relevant ODBSs must submit a copy of their booking records to DoT via their DoTDirect account.
