Geraldton Batavia Coast Marina boat pens

The Department of Transport (DoT) is building an additional set of boat pens (Jetty C) in the Batavia Coast Marina. 

The new pens will help meet a growing demand and provide a short stay berth for larger tour / commercial vessels to 25 metres in length.

Project background

DoT is undertaking the project to provide additional boat pens in Geraldton as well as an additional facility for commercial tour and charter operations, including to the Houtman Abrolhos Islands.

Project status

The project has recently been awarded to the successful tenderer, SMC Marine. Design works are currently underway with the pile driving activities expected to commence late October 2024.  The new pens are currently expected to be in use by mid-2025. 

Consultation

The project has undergone and completed stakeholder consultation during the planning phase and necessary approvals and permits have been secured for the project.
