The Department of Transport’s Your Move Schools program celebrated a new record in 2023 with 122 Western Australian schools achieving Your Move accreditation.

Every year, participating schools have an opportunity to earn points and reach an accreditation level of either bronze, silver, gold, platinum or double platinum. Points are reset to zero at the start of each school year and are awarded for schools completing activities such as forming a Your Move student team, holding regular active travel days and sharing active travel stories on the Your Move website.

Points are awarded as follows:

  • 100 points = Bronze accreditation
  • 300 points = Silver accreditation
  • 600 points = Gold accreditation
  • 1,000 points = Platinum accreditation
  • 1,500 points = Double platinum accreditation.

The top performing Your Move school for 2023 was St Augustine's Primary School in the City of Belmont, achieving an enormous 3,736 points!

“The annual accreditation process incentivises schools to proactively promote and participate in active travel for the school journey, leading to healthier minds, bodies and environments, as well as reduced congestion and parking pressures,” said Helen Ginbey, Manager Travel Behaviour Change, Department of Transport.

“Reaching certain accreditation levels also allows schools to be eligible to apply for a Connecting Schools Grant, or to redeem rewards through the Your Move shop”.
