Preveen’s older sister has always driven the family of four girls around.
Preveen was very keen to get her licence to be able to take care of her new baby and help out with the rest of the family.

Being 8.5 months pregnant was an extra challenge for Preveen when learning to drive because her feet were so swollen. MEEDAC, a Driving Access and Equity Program grant funded organisation, worked with Preveen on her licensing journey and despite some of the challenges faced, Preveen was very determined and getting her licence was a great achievement.

“I am so happy that I have now got my licence. This is going to help me look after my baby and my sisters,” said Preveen.

“MEEDAC would help me out whenever they could by squeezing me in for lessons when I felt good. I want to make a good life for my baby and take them to the check-ups that they will need.

“I feel I will be a good role model for my baby and who knows, if the program is still running in the future maybe my baby can get lessons as well.”

Now both Preveen and her sister Ciara have their licences and can help the family and use the car Preveen purchased.
