Mining job in Robert’s sights
Insights and resources for the Department of Transport
Robert comes from a large and busy family, making it difficult for him to pin someone down to help him build up the supervised driving hours he needed to get his driver’s licence.
Without it, Robert had to rely on public transport and lifts from other people, making it difficult for him to secure ongoing employment.
With help from Midwest Aboriginal Employment and Economic Development (MEEDAC), Robert was able to access a driving supervisor to help him achieve his logbook hours and ultimately, his driver’s licence.
“I will have better employment opportunities and, in the future, get a job on the mines. Thank you MEEDAC for helping me get my licence!” said Robert.
