Yvonne is one of the first people in the Mid West to achieve their driver’s licence through the Driving Access and Equity Program, after receiving driving instruction and support from Midwest Aboriginal Employment and Economic Development (MEEDAC).

At age 63 this was a major achievement for Yvonne, who has proven that it’s never too late to master new skills.

Yvonne credits MEEDAC driving instructor Fergie, with helping to calm her nerves and build her driving confidence.

“I wasn’t very confident in getting my licence and driving a car, but with my instructor’s help, I gained the confidence to do so, and over time, got enough experience to go for my test,” said Yvonne.

“This is a good program and I am very happy to finally have my licence at the age of 63. I know there are people in my town that are happy for me too.”
