The Department of Transport (DoT) is on the move in Collie with its Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) centre being relocated to operate within the Collie Post Shop.

DoT's Driver and Vehicle Services A/General Manager, Steve Mitchinson said Collie residents would continue to have choice and convenience when doing their licensing business when services will transition from the Collie Courthouse to the Collie Post Shop on Monday 24 July 2017.

Mr Mitchinson said the Collie Post Shop would be able to assist customers with;

  • Driver and vehicle licence renewals;
  • Driver licence applications;
  • Vehicle registrations;
  • Change of address;
  • WA photo card;
  • Temporary movement permit purchase;
  • Vehicle ownership transfer;
  • Purchasing optional vehicle licence plates; and
  • Recreational vessel transfers and payments.

"Theory Tests and Hazard Perception Tests will continue to be conducted at the Collie Library between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on Wednesday and Saturday, however payment must be made at the Collie Post Shop prior to attempting these tests.

The Collie Post Shop, at Shop 10, 85-89 Steere Street, Collie will offer DoT services between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm from Monday to Friday, providing the community with convenient access to DoT services.

Collie Courthouse will no longer conduct DVS business from 1:00 pm on Friday 21 July.

"Customers can do much of their licensing business online using DoTDirect - including payments; licence and vehicle status enquiries; change of addresses; and checking demerit points," Mr Mitchinson said.

DoTDirect is a free personalised online account that is now used by over 200,000 Western Australians to conveniently manage their vehicle and driver's licence, as well as pay DVS and Marine invoices and conduct a range of other DoT transactions. This provides greater flexibility to undertake transactions anytime and anywhere at your convenience.
