The Western Australian Government will host a series of local community forums in the Wheatbelt, Great Southern, Mid-West and Goldfields regions during July and August to gain inputs from regional communities regarding planned and potential improvements to the State’s agricultural supply chain.

The forums will assist the Government-established Agricultural Supply Chain Improvements (ASCI) Project Team in preparing a business case for Infrastructure Australia (IA) for a long-term ASCI investment program supporting the movement of agricultural products from farm to destination. In February this year, agricultural supply chain improvements in WA were identified by IA as a priority worthy of investment in its 2021 Infrastructure Priority List.

The community forums are targeted at growers, people in the road and rail freight industries as well as parties interested in the impact of freight arrangements on regional communities, road safety, community amenity or the environment. They will provide the opportunity for attendees to learn more about current Government investments to improve agricultural freight as well as have a say in how future investment should be directed.
