Security patrols at Two Rocks Marina will be increased following recent vandalism attacks that resulted in costly damage to the newly upgraded facility.

The Department of Transport (DoT) estimates the clean-up bill from two recent incidents in July will be in excess of $20,000 after offenders graffitied and damaged the new toilet facilities, bollards and public seating - all part of the recent upgrades to the marina’s southern foreshore.

There was also significant damage to pathway lighting which was later recovered from the marina waters.

DoT Acting Director Coastal Facilities Shelley Grice said additional to the increased patrols at the marina, an automatic locking system has been installed to prevent future vandalism of the new toilet block.

“Currently the toilet block is locked from 9pm until 5am. However, we welcome feedback from the community about access times, especially for the upcoming boating season,” Ms Grice said.

“CCTV was upgraded and extended as part of the recent upgrades at the facility and is being used to investigate the recent vandalism as we work closely with the WA Police Force and the City of Wanneroo to maximise patrols and security at the facility.

“We also encourage people visiting the marina to report any vandalism or bad behaviour they witness to marina management by contacting them on 1300 863 308 or via email

“It is extremely frustrating that these attacks are now limiting access to the toilet facilities which were provided for those using the boat ramp.”

Since DoT resumed operation of the facility in late 2014 more than $20 million has been spent upgrading Two Rocks Marina. The upgrades align with the Two Rocks Marina Master Plan which provides an aspirational long-term vision for the marina.
