Expressions of interest are now open for the Local Bike Planning (LPB) Grants Program, offered as part of DoT’s Western Australian Bicycle Network Grants Program.

This is a new funding opportunity, designed to assist local governments in developing and implementing bike plans and strengthen the active transport network.

These non-infrastructure grants provide for basic ($15,000) and enhanced ($25,000) support.

DoT A/Manager Built Environment Andrew McClurg said the focus on bike plans will complement WA’s long-term vision for active transport.

“This funding stream will support best practice for safe, comfortable and connected active transport across the state.

“We encourage local governments to apply and be part of the solution to making walking, wheeling and riding more common, accessible and accepted in WA.”

Applications are available from the Western Australian Bicycle Network Grants Program webpage.
